Karla Refojo studied fresco painting at the Instituto Italiano di Conservazione e Restauro in Venice, Italy. She has over twelve years of experience in restoration of Asian and European paintings and sculptures. Karla travels regularly to Nepal where she studies sculpture and traditional mineral pigment painting with Tibetan and Newari masters, deepening her understanding of the art. She recaptures the sublime and often sacred quality of ancient masterpieces in her own art and brings that quality into private and public contemporary spaces. Her work expresses her passion for ancient art and her understanding of its traditional technique.
